Cisco Networking Academy Contest Site

NetRiders: Asia Pacific and Japan

Overview

Cisco Networking Academy NetRiders IT skills competitions are a great opportunity for students and alumni in Asia Pacific and Japan to showcase their networking abilities, learn valuable new IT skills, and gain visibility among talent recruiters in the growing ICT and networking field.

Registration will open on Monday, 15 June and close on Wednesday, 26 August (Extended from 21 August)

In 2015, we are making some changes to our NetRiders program. We will be running 3 levels of competition in Asia Pacific and Japan. At all three levels, the majority of the questions deal with technical skills but there will be some questions about Internet of Everything (IoE) and soft skills.

  • CCNA - geared toward CCNA certifications and open to students currently enrolled in or recently completed the 3rd or 4th CCNA course
  • CCENT - geared toward CCENT certifications and open to students currently enrolled in or recently completed the 1st or 2nd CCNA course
  • IT Essentials - geared toward the IT Essentials course and open to students currently enrolled in or recently completed the IT Essentials course

Competitors can register for one NetRiders competition during the open registration period and self-select the competition they choose to participate in based on eligibility requirements.

Eligibility Information

For all the eligibility requirements and rules of an individual competition, please download the Rules PDF and FAQ files for the competition you are interested in. A few things to note about competition eligibility:

  • Students must be currently or recently enrolled in a Cisco Networking Academy CCNA Routing and Switching, CCNA Discovery, CCNA Exploration or IT Essentials course in a country in Asia Pacific or Japan
  • Students represent the Cisco Networking Academy and therefore the country where they are currently enrolled or most recently completed a CCNA or IT Essentials course
  • Students must live in a country in Asia Pacific or Japan
  • Students may only compete in one competition (CCNA, CCENT, or IT Essentials) in a calendar year
  • Beginning with 2015, students may only compete in each level (CCNA, CCENT, and IT Essentials) one time so we recommend students are strategic in selecting the best year to compete in each level of competition based on courses enrolled in or recently completed and all other eligibility rules

It is the responsibility of the competitor to read and comply with all eligibility rules for the competition they decide to compete in this year. Failure to meet all eligibility requirements is cause for disqualification. We do the most extensive validation after Round One is complete which means that a student who enrolls in the wrong competition will not get the opportunity to try that competition again. Please carefully read the Rules and FAQs for the competitions to determine which is the best to enroll in this year.

Prizes

Prizes are awarded at the end of Round Two for CCENT and IT Essentials and at the end of Round Three for CCNA. The Study Trip Prize is only awarded to the top two scores in the CCNA competition. Please see the Rules for each competition for more information on the prizes.
